On the left-hand side of this page, you will find all the resources available to families in the McKenzie County School District.
To help integrate families into our school and community and help make the transition easy when moving in, we have a group of Student Council Ambassadors. These ambassadors are available to families or companies for meetings or tours. Below are some examples of what they have done in the community so far this year. If you or your company is interested in utilizing the Ambassadors meetings or tours, please contact Amy Polivka at polivka@watford-city.k12.nd.us.
Our Student Council Ambassadors had the opportunity to attend the GNDC CEO Round Table in Minot where they gave a demonstration on how they present to our workforce to assist with community integration and they also participated in the Gen Z panel.
Two student council ambassadors, Hailey and Lydia, got the opportunity to visit with some Sanford staff about our community.
The ambassadors gave tours to new community members and talked to the MBI trucking division about our school and opportunities for their families in our community.
The WCHS student council ambassadors group and Payton Morris of the CWE program attended the API BANQUET in Williston. The group attended as guests of keynote speaker, Pat Bertagnoli. He talked to the API members about employee retention and the power of community partnerships. The ambassadors networked with many oil field executives and western ND politicians and hope to continue partnering with many businesses recruiting employees to the Baaken!
Jason Spiess visited Watford City High School to start a new slice of interviews, podcasts, radio segments and print features with high school students. With the help of The Crude Life, Patrick Bertagnolli, SHRM-SCP and some of our awesome student council ambassadors, they were able to do a live recording session on their thoughts, views and experiences while 'Living the Crude Life'.
