A little bit about Mrs. Tomlinson

I was born in Columbus, Ohio and still bleed scarlet and grey. While I was growing up, my family moved around to various communities in Ohio for my dad’s job. I graduated from Federal Hocking High School in Stewart, Ohio. My Bachelor of Science degree is in Elementary Education with an emphasis on mathematics was awarded from The Ohio University (OU) in Athens, Ohio.  I continued with graduate studies at OU obtaining a Master of Education in Talented and Gifted Education. I later received my administration credentials from the University of Dayton. During my career in education, I have experienced teaching and coaching in various capacities from kindergarten through eighth grade.

My husband Eric and I have three children, Emma, Zach, and Nicole, who all attend school here in Watford City and participate in various activities including: golf, band, choir, and hockey. We have four dogs, a Yorkie named Abby, and three Labs, Dolly, Beau, and Minnie. When I have a chance I enjoy traveling and crafting.

Originally from South Dakota, my husband and I have proudly made North Dakota our home and have enjoyed being part of the Watford City community for the past 13 years. We have three wonderful children, and as a family we enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring together.

During my time in education, I have had the opportunity to teach 2nd grade, 3rd grade and reading intervention. These experiences have strengthened my passion for supporting students academically. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Dickinson State University in 2013 and later continued my professional growth by completing a master's degree in teaching and leadership from the University of North Dakota.

I am grateful for the relationships, experiences, and sense of community that make Watford City such a meaningful place to live, work, and raise a family.
