Elementary

2026 Summer Extension (May 27-June 19)

Summer break is just around the corner, and we are excited to offer our Summer Extension program. We encourage all students to participate—whether they would benefit from additional academic support or simply enjoy learning and socializing with their peers. Our program is designed to meet a wide range of student needs and interests.

Program Details:

  • For Badlands and Fox Hills students entering grades 1-5 
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00-11:30 AM
  • Location: Badlands Elementary (In-Person)
  • Registration deadline: Monday, May 18

Middle School

2026 Summer Course Recovery (May 27-June 19)

Summer Course Recovery is designed for students who did not successfully complete a course during the school year and could benefit from additional instruction. Through this program, students will work to complete missing or incomplete assignments and strengthen grade-level skills that were not mastered.

Who Should Attend:

  • Students entering grades 6-8
  • Students entering 9th grade who did not pass an 8th grade course

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00-11:30 AM
  • Watford City Middle School
  • Registration deadline: Wednesday, May 20

High School

Summer School (June 1-26)

WCHS will offer summer school for students that would like to get ahead or need to recover credits. 

Program Details:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Time: AM Session | 8:15-11:40 AM, PM Session | 12:20-3:45 PM
    • Students earn a ½ credit per session and may sign up for one or both sessions.
  • For students entering grades 9-12
  • Registration deadline: Friday, May 29

Courses Available: 

  • Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus
  • English: English I, English II, English III, English IV
  • Science: Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
  • Social Studies: U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics
  • Technology: Computer Science (1 credit course)

If you have questions about what courses to take, please contact your school counselor. 

Instruction will be delivered through an online program called Edgenuity. A licensed staff member will oversee the program and instruct as needed. This format allows a greater variety of courses offered with limited staff. 

Attendance Requirements:

By century code, students must attend in person for 60 classroom hours per half credit. With the above schedule, students would be able to miss 2 class periods and still gain credit. No distance or remote learning options will be offered. Students looking for these options should consider the North Dakota Center for Distance Education.
